Claudia Lin, in her own words
Founding principal of Legacy Maker LLC, an independent advisory practice in Pasadena.
My name, 林 (Lín), means forest: a grove of trees growing together, each rooted independently yet stronger for their proximity. It is the most honest description of the work I do.
For over two decades I have worked where insurance, human capital strategy and organizational risk meet, helping California employers build structures that protect their people, manage their costs and endure beyond any single leader.
My path has run through top global insurance brokers, the boardrooms of Forbes Business Council members, and the classrooms of Wharton, USC Marshall and Columbia. My most formative education came from clients: HR executives navigating self-funding, CFOs and COOs translating strategy into results, and entrepreneurs building a philanthropic legacy for their families.
I founded Legacy Maker because the best advisors do not only solve today’s problem. They help you build something that outlasts you.
Claudia Lin
What she holds to
- Integrity
- Every recommendation is grounded in what is best for the client, not in what pays the highest commission.
- Cultural fluency
- As an Asian-American woman in a traditionally homogeneous industry, Claudia sees what others miss.
- Long-term thinking
- Like the bonsai, the most meaningful work is done slowly, deliberately, and with an eye toward generations ahead.
- Holistic strategy
- Risk and people are one conversation. She looks for the places where an insurance decision is really a people decision.
